Meet Business Development Associate, Gabriela.

Gabriela, Gaby to her colleagues, has been with the Society for 3 years supporting brokers with their initial queries.

Gaby, what do you like about working at the Society?

I’ve been with the Society for nearly 3 years and I like being the first point of contact, helping brokers with their initial queries. I mainly deal with rate switches and streamlining the associated processes. It’s really rewarding to build good client relationships and identify new business opportunities. Every day is varied, we’re always learning something new.

What Society developments are you excited about?

I’m excited about the implementation of adopting an environmental mindset. I’m looking forward to seeing which products will support green initiatives. I’m also encouraged to see the Society is being led by the colleague voice and adopting new ideas and platforms that will encourage us all to be more mindful about our individual actions. Recently, the Society launched a colleague led Social Responsibility Panel focusing on environmental concerns and community support among other matters.

Are you looking forward to the future?

Definitely, after a short step away from the Society I realised I wanted to be on the Society’s journey. We’re forward looking and putting members, colleagues and communities first. I think that matters, not just to me and my personal values but to my colleagues and the people we do business with. The Society is true to its mutual values, demonstrating them in everything it does and I think that is a future we all want to be part of.

What are your ambitions for the year ahead?

To make the most of every opportunity that comes my way! After what has been a tough few years for everyone I think we’ve realised how fragile life is, how precious our connections are and that we are all dependent on each other. Yes, I want to develop my career and knowledge of financial services but I want to do that with an organisation that aligns with my values. Right now, that’s the Monmouthshire Building Society.
