How to Apply

Our team of dedicated Case Officers aim to provide you with a fast and efficient service. When you submit an application, you will receive an acknowledgement letter and/or email from our Underwriting team. You will also be given the Application number, allowing you to keep track of the application more easily.

There are three ways to apply

1. Broker Online - (residential only)

Broker Online is an online system which allows you to submit residential mortgage applications electronically. It also provides DIP, KFI and document upload facilities. Please ensure all the appropriate sections of the application form are completed and all questions answered in full. This will help to avoid unnecessary delays in processing.

Immediately following submission, please post the signed Declaration and Direct Debit Mandate to: Underwriting Department, Monmouthshire Building Society, Monmouthshire House, John Frost Square, Newport, NP20 1PX.

To ensure the application is processed as quickly as possible, please upload the essential accompanying documents listed below.

2. Paper Mortgage Application Forms - (Residential & BTL)

To ensure the application is processed as quickly as possible, please send certified copies of all documents to documentsubmissions@monbs.com immediately following submission.

3. Mortgage Application forms – MTE

If you are a Mortgage Brain or Trigold subscriber, you can submit residential mortgage applications electronically via MTE. Please ensure all the appropriate sections of the application form are completed and all questions answered in full.

Immediately following submission, please post the signed Declaration and Direct Debit Mandate to: Underwriting Department, Monmouthshire Building Society, Monmouthshire House, John Frost Square, Newport, NP20 1PX.

Essential Accompanying Documents

For all cases
  • Name and address identification for each applicant
  • For cases above 80% LTV, please supply a certified copy of the passport for each Applicant
  • Last 3 months bank statements for each applicant, where the Loan to Value exceeds 80% LTV.
  • Evidence of a credible repayment strategy is required for all interest-only or part interest-only residential applications Link to Lending Criteria
  • Evidence of pension provision if the applicant(s) term takes the Applicant(s) into retirement 
For employed applicants
  • Most recent 3 months payslips and P60
  • For self-employed applicants and company directors with more than a shareholding in a Ltd Co:
  • Most recent 2 years trading accounts
  • SA302’s for the last 2 years
  • Most recent HMRC tax overview
For First Time Buyers and those whose deposit is not coming from the equity within their current property
  • Proof of Deposit
For family gifted deposits
  • Gift Letter, confirming that the gift is non-refundable and that the person making the gift is taking no interest in the property.
